The Medis Insured has the right to select any doctor and hospital inside and outside his or her country of residence. With the exception of the U.S. the Medis Insured may select two of the most important healthcare providers network: Hygeia and the STAR Network.
Hygeia:
Hygeia is the preferential providers network of the Medis ELITE and Medis OPTIMA Plans in the U.S.
Hygeia is one of the oldest and largest medical providers in the nation. Their ongoing success is based on meeting the changing healthcare needs of an increasingly demanding nation as healthcare costs increase and the population ages.
Hygeia is recognized as one of the most extensive and complete National Healthcare Provider Network in the U.S. It offers to its beneficiary's access to more than 4,500 hospitals and approximately 400,000 doctors and specialists.

STAR NETWORK:
The STAR Network, spanning throughout major metropolitan U.S. cities such as Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego, New York and Boston, offers services of 19 recognized Hospital Centers.
The optional hospitals in the STAR Network are offered to the MEDIS Elite and MEDIS Optima plans with exclusive service to the MEDIS Maxima plans within the United States.
Once choosing any one of the hospitals in the STAR Network, the insured will have the right to $1,000 reduce rate in the deductible, the elimination of the coinsurance and round-trip airline ticket (up to $500) conditional on the following:
- Treatment is not an emergency, outpatien or maternity.
- Pre-Certified and approved at least 10 working days to hospitalization and sending the Administrator all medical history and notes along with estimated medical expenses.
